Newtera Announces Release of E-Catalog Platform
Fremont,
California – February
15, 2004
– Newtera, Inc., an enterprise software company delivering a
new breed of sell-side e-commerce software solutions, today announced the release of its
Enterprise Catalog Management Platform product, Newtera
E-Catalog, that allows rapid development of powerful and
flexible e-business solutions.
Unlike Enterprise Content Management (ECM), which focuses on
document management and unstructured editorial and Web content,
Newtera eCatalog is addressing the need of managing structured
information, such as product information, component
information, customer information, order information, and so
on. It also includes some key functional capabilities that are commonly required by
enterprise e-business applications, enabling solution
developers to focus on business problems rather than software
architecture issues.
The release of Newtera E-Catalog provides Newtera a foundation
on which to quickly build the best breed of e-commerce
solutions for its intended market.
Newtera also partners with solution providers, such as e-business
solution providers, consulting service providers, or internet service
providers, who can complement and
leverage Newtera E-Catalog product.
Newtera E-Catalog is designed and implemented with the
latest technology and industry standards, including XML, XML
Schema, XQuery, and Web Service. It is
built on Microsoft .Net framework using C#, and
supports both Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases.
